Part of American life is pledging allegiance to the flag and to the republic for which it stands. It is part of our permanent memory as we recited it so often beginning at a young age. Read about the pledge of allegiance by clicking on the image to the left.

Read about proper respect for the flag by clicking the image to the right. There is legislation protecting the U.S. national ensign. There are do’s and don’ts. For example, consider this quote: “The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.” 4 USC §8 (2006)
